What Sets Us Apart?

Oldest Boy Scout Troop in La Canada – June 4, 1919

Because of our heritage, manageable troop size and dedicated parental support – Troop 501 is able to offer a variety of adventures, events and scout leadership opportunities.

One benefit of our close knit group is that scouts and parents all get to know and learn from each other.

Our adventures include backpacking, firearm safety and sport, winter and desert survival, exploring sea caves, rock climbing, and more. (more…)

Sam Rayburn

srayburn-smSam completed his Eagle project last February, during his senior year at LCHS. Sam redesigned and planted three garden areas for Wilson Elementary in San Gabriel. Drought resistant native plants replaced the water thirsty plants.

Bennet Cowdin

bcowdin-smBennet graduated from La Canada High School in 2015 where he enjoyed both academics and hockey; he also was active in soccer and played piano.  He began scouts as a Cub Scout at Paradise Canyon Elementary Pack 519 in 2004, bridging to Boy Scouts at Troop 501 in 5th grade. (more…)

Christopher Harris Jr

charris-smChristopher’s Eagle Scout project was conducted at Roosevelt Elementary school in Pasadena California.
